At Adira, it is always our therapists’ primary goal to create an individualized care plan to restore our patients’ prior level of functioning so they can return home. Our therapists will assess each patient’s needs, provide treatment for recovery and also help patients reintegrate into their communities as necessary to ensure a smooth transition.
Our Physical Therapy program focuses on the treatment need to improve the mobility, balance, strength and endurance of our patients.
Improving self-care, safe performance of daily activities, and the development of fine motor skills needed to regain independence are the focus of our Occupational Therapy program. Following an assessment, our therapists will provide patients with training on specialized adaptive equipment as needed as well as address any issues related to visual perceptual function and cognition.
Our Speech Therapy program provides treatment needed to treat various swallowing disorders. After an initial assessment, our Speech and Language Pathologists will provide therapeutic interventions that address a patient’s communication and language skills and development of skills to compensate for memory and executive functioning skills.
For every patient, our dietician evaluates their nutritional requirements and preferences to design a diet program that meets their individual medical requirements and provides adequate calories to facilitate healing. This is done upon admission and periodically throughout the recovery process as a patient’s medical needs or preferences change.
Our therapeutic diet focuses around creating a customized nutritional plan for each patient that is integral to their success, happiness and recovery. We take into account each individual’s preferences, allergies and ensure the diet is in compliance with medical requirements.
